Marti Thomas Doneghy is an attorney specializing in estate planning law, and can help you with a variety of planning needs from simple will or multi-generational trusts, to Power of Attorney or Health Proxy. She dismantles the myth: “Only people with lots of money need an estate plan” because that simply isn’t true. It’s about YOU being in control when life happens.

"Let me help you create a plan that’s right for you!"

At a very young age, I developed the qualities of confidence and discretion, and I learned the importance of both. I grew up in the Deep South in the 1960s, when neighbors, communities and family were one.  One of our next-door neighbors, Ms. Margaret was my first client, and the best cake lady in the neighborhood.  Her son, who had moved “up North,” would regularly send Ms. Margaret letters that she cherished.  Once a month, at my mother’s suggestion, I would visit Ms. Margaret’s, sit at her table, read her son's letters to her, listen to what she wanted to say, and write her response.
I was Ms. Margaret’s personal letter writer from the age of 9 to 14 years old. This kind lady trusted me with the thoughts, hopes, and prayers shared with her family. She was confident that what she said to me to write, was in fact, written on the blue-lined pad that I always used to pen her letters.

Looking back over the years, the deed of service  as Ms. Margaret’s confidante and communicator, was an honor.   Ms. Margaret was my first client.

George Eliot once wrote, "Our deeds determine us, as much as we determine our deeds."
